Your impact
As our Portfolio Management and Investments Associate, you will take the lead on work streams related to the portfolio management of Alight’s pipeline and be responsible for Alight's investments in the Behind the Meter (BtM) business.
This role will involve owning and maintaining the portfolio model, keeping it up to date, updating valuations, and generating comprehensive reports. You will actively pursue new investment opportunities in the BtM space across various European countries. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the portfolio financial model, conducting detailed analyses, and leading investment analysis and reporting efforts. You will support the BtM sales team throughout the entire opportunity cycle of current and future BtM projects, from the pre-exclusivity phase through to execution.
KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Management - Expected to be ~60% of the role work time:
Lead the updates and operation of a complex Portfolio Model to manage Alight pipeline of grid connected projects in different countries.
Being involved in the portfolio valuation policy and process.
Being responsible to add new projects and new acquisitions into the Portfolio Model.
Own and update the Portfolio Model on an ongoing basis.
Perform analysis and reporting on a portfolio level including valuation of the whole pipeline.
Being involved in corporate financing analysis and financing process.
Keep track of the funding requirements for committed projects.
Support management and the rest of the team with Portfolio responsibilities including developing operational strategies, improvements, and other functions.
Investments - Expected to be ~40% of the role work time:
Build and handle BtM financial models in different European markets (UK, Spain, Poland, Sweden,etc) at a project and portfolio level throughout the project cycle.
Being responsible for preparing the investment decision material for all BtM projects in the Alight pipeline.
Supporting the BtM team in the valuation, due diligence, structuring, deal documentation and financing.
Credit assessment of existing and new counterparties to determine pricing and support investment decisions for BtM projects.
We’re looking for you
To excel in this role, we believe that you are experienced in diverse work streams across the investment lifecycle. You are comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders from various backgrounds and have previously owned your projects and deliveries.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of experience in portfolio management / investment with exposure to infrastructure projects
A track record of project leadership and working across various work streams
Proficiency in building and managing complex financial models
Experience presenting investment cases
Experience in transactions for financing and M&A
Well-versed in the Microsoft Office package, especially Excel
Project financing experience is preferred, but not a requirement for this position
Fluency in English
Alight is a remote-first company! In this role, you can work from anywhere in Europe. We currently have Investment team members located in Stockholm (HQ), Bologna, and London.
