What it's like working with us

You will be part of an entrepreneurial scale-up in a flat, coaching and knowledge driven culture with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Through comprehensive onboarding and continuous training, you will play a key role in Alight’s Development team for Grid Connected projects, leading the development of new solar PV Plants and securing land access rights to the Ready-To-Build stage.

As a Site Developer you will be part of the Site Development team and will be:

    • Strategize with DSOs to secure grid connection capacity by ordering technical investigations to determine delivery times and costs.

    • Oversee project development by coordinating internal resources and external consultants, while ensuring compliance with permitting requirements.

    • Present projects at planning consultations with local authorities and communities to ensure project buy-in and facilitate progress.

    • Collaborate with landowners on lease agreements, permitting, grid connection, and community engagement.

    • Conduct comprehensive technical and financial assessments of development sites using end-to-end software and in-house tools to determine LCOE.

    • Validate sites for technical and financial feasibility in coordination with Alight's operations and finance teams.

    • Manage the development budget for applicable projects and report development spending.

    • Prepare overall time schedules for projects in collaboration with other Alight teams to clarify interfaces and interdependencies.

    • Present projects to the Investment Committee for internal approval, covering requests for development budget and risk-review evaluations.

    • Manage external consultants in specific areas, such as environmental impact assessments, nature inventories, nature preservation plans, landscape analysis, archeological investigations, and technical reviews.

    • Conduct internal due diligence for procurement of project rights of sites developed by others by performing comprehensive site assessments and document reviews.

    • Participate in joint development projects with third-party developers to ensure deliverables meet internal requirements.

    • Support Alight's Behind the Meter team with the development of ground-mounted installations on industrial premises.

    • Guide our teams outside Sweden in the development of sites in other European markets as required.

Main Interfaces in the role:

  • Collaborate with landowners, grid utilities, and authorities to advance projects.

  • Support the Finance and Sales teams in due diligence processes with investors and customers.

  • Coordinate with the Construction team on plant design and project handovers.

  • Support the Sales team in PPA marketing and deal closing as required.

  • Development teams in other EU markets

Who you are

    To succeed in this role, we believe that you do not need to have experience from the energy sector but rather a project management experience where you have worked in engineering consulting or other leading infrastructure projects before the RTB stage, we believe knowledge is transferable and we are more than keen to have people learn.

    • You have 3 to 6 years of working experience as project manager
    • You have an Engineering, Economics, environmental studies degree (Bachelor or Master)
    • You are fluent in English & Swedish, but the more languages the merrier!
    • You have a drive to successfully inspire and challenge others
    • You have strong analytical skills
    • You have experience working with permit applications, collaboration with municipalities and/or environmental impact assesments.
    • You are a team player who see the intrinsic value in kind acts towards others
