Collector for Drug and Alcohol Testing

ABC Labs is looking for exceptional collectors for drug- and alcohol testing.

ABC Labs is a technology-native care provider, diagnostics lab, biobank, and research organization. Creating unified, exponentially improving, public health products.

We are innovating at the frontier of diagnostics by combining software, robotics, data science, medical consultation, lab automation, and operational excellence to create end-to-end products that span the entire spectrum of user needs - and become exponentially more efficient over time.

Founded as an impact project during the pandemic, ABC grew into Sweden’s largest COVID-19 testing lab, conducting up to 28% of national testing under public health contracts exceeding $180 million. Our R&D efforts have led to three national screening programs and nine publications.

We are now applying this infrastructure to a new frontier: substance abuse testing at workplaces - a complex, highly regulated, and fragmented value chain growing at >10% CAGR across Europe and the U.S., and in urgent need of scalable, intelligent solutions.

Mission

As an ABC Collector, you are responsible for collecting and handling samples in line with established procedures, with a focus on quality, accuracy and consideration for each tested individual.

Collections are conducted digitally through remote supervision, but may also take place on-site at client locations and occasionally in our own facilities. All collections are documented digitally in our system, CareOS.

You work independently or in teams, following procedures for handling, registration, and incident/deviation reporting - ensuring a professional experience for every client and individual.

Areas of responsibility

→ Conduct digital and physical drug and alcohol testing according to ABC Labs’ protocols.

→ Ensure accurate documentation and chain-of-custody compliance in CareOS.

→ Demonstrate integrity by maintaining confidentiality and representing ABC’s standards in every interaction.

→ Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and support functions.

→ Participate in ongoing training and internal certification programs.

Ideal Profile

Clinical background — certified nurse (sjuksköterska or undersköterska), or BMA with practical experience in sample collection or clinical workflows.

Problem solving mindset — able to adapt to changing conditions and solve logistical or operational challenges.

Strong computer literacy — confident in using digital tools, documentation systems, and remote communication platforms.
Service-oriented — represents ABC’s professional standard in interactions with clients, patients, and partners.

Criteria

→ Relevant healthcare education (nurse, BMA, or equivalent).

→ Ideally a couple of years of clinical or sample collection experience.

→ Familiarity with digital tools and remote workflows (e.g., digital self-sampling supervision).

→ Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken.

→ Driver’s license (B) and willingness to occasionally travel for on-site assignments.

The Practical Stuff

Location: Based in Stockholm (some travel may be required)

Working hours: Assignments may occasionally occur during early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on client scheduling needs. Flexibility and availability for irregular hours are essential parts of the role.
Reporting to: Head of Collector Ops and Operations Manager

Employment terms: Part-time hourly employment

Requirements: Valid EU work permit required (non-EU citizens must present current visa/permit status)

We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds

About ABC Labs

ABC was created in spring 2020 in direct response to unprecedented challenges of the covid 19 pandemic and grew into the largest pandemic lab conducting up to 30% of total testing with public health contracts exceeding USD 180 million and R&D that led to three national screening programs and 9 publications. Now, we are deploying that infrastructure to the highly regulated, highly complex, and fragmented value chain for substance abuse testing at workplaces that is growing at more than 10% CAGR across the EU with need for increasingly sophisticated and scalable solutions to meet its challenges.
