are looking for a PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Bioengineering, or a related field to
join our team and lead the development of applications that enhance the quality of life
for people with disabilities.
Your primary mission will be to contribute to the advancement of TalX, the first
messaging app designed with integrated accessibility tools, aimed at breaking
communication barriers for users with diverse needs. You will work in a dynamic and
collaborative environment, applying your technical and creative expertise to design
innovative and functional solutions, in partnership with prestigious technology centers
such as the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the University of Barcelona (UB).
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and optimize algorithms and applications focused on
accessibility.
• Collaborate on the continuous improvement of TalX, integrating new features
and support tools for people with disabilities.
• Develop mobile applications using cross-platform technologies such as React
Native or Flutter, bringing technical expertise and a proactive attitude to learn
and adapt to these tools.
• Connect TalX and similar applications with IoT functionalities, such as reading
and interpreting sensor signals, and analyzing them using artificial intelligence
(AI).
• Conduct applied research in collaboration with UPC, UB, and other technology
centers to integrate emerging technologies into our projects.
• Work with designers, developers, usability experts, and people with disabilities
to ensure an exceptional user experience.
• Propose and test data-driven solutions to address complex technical
challenges.
Requirements:
• PhD in Engineering (any discipline), Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioengineering, or a related
field.
• Proven experience in software development, preferably in mobile or desktop
applications.
• Advanced programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, Java, or similar).
• Familiarity with accessibility technologies (such as speech recognition, adaptive
interfaces, or signal processing).
• Experience or willingness to work with cross-platform technologies like React
Native or Flutter.
• Interest in IoT and the ability to integrate and analyze sensor data using AI.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a results-oriented
approach.
• Sensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities and a passion for inclusive
technology.
• Advanced level of English.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Previous experience in bioengineering, IoT, or health-related tool development
projects.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data processing.
• Publications or research related to accessibility, assistive technologies, or IoT
integration.
• Experience collaborating with universities or research centers.
