Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Maintenance team based in Västerås. By joining us, you will be a key player in contributing to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job
As an Electrical Engineer at Northvolt, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating components and processes related to electricity generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage. You will determine design approaches, conduct experimental tests, analyze results, and select components and equipment based on specifications and reliability. Additionally, you will be responsible for documentation, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will serve as a key player and gatekeeper in new projects, ensuring alignment with our standards and objectives.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Identify and address gaps in competence and resources to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Inspect and maintain building systems and process machinery to ensure functionality and safety.

  • Contribute to the development and optimization of the overall maintenance program to enhance reliability and performance.

  • Work with the team to develop and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and practices.

  • Oversee all repairs, ensure timely completion of work, and handle contact with external contractors during maintenance activities.
