About EsterCare

We are EsterCare, a femtech startup that is passionate about making women's healthcare accessible to all in need of care and treatment.

It's common for women to endure gynecological and hormonal health issues for long periods. This is due to healthcare inaccessibility, lack of education, and societal taboos. Something that affects their quality of life.

Through our digital platform we have, since the first release last year, helped thousands of women receive qualified gynecological healthcare. We’ve grown to fifteen employees.

About the role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer that wants to join us in our journey to innovate and digitize female healthcare.

You will be part of a small but efficient in-house tech team, handling a mobile patient app, backend healthcare platform, and public web. Since we are a small team we all need to be able to work across the full stack, but if you are extra interested in backend and cloud technologies that is an extra bonus.

The team works closely with our Head of Product and our CTO. We try to take as many technical and product decisions together as a team.

We are remote-friendly, but the role is based at our office in Stockholm.

Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the ongoing development of our products. With a wide range of projects on our roadmap, we pride ourselves on our ability to iterate rapidly. From your first week, you'll have the opportunity to see your code go live, directly impacting our users' experience.

Moreover, you'll play a key role in shaping our technical direction and selecting the technologies we use. Alongside development, you'll also be involved in maintaining our current offerings and occasionally providing third line support to our end-users.

Technologies we use

The technical vision from the start has been designed for true full stack development. That means for example using the same language (TypeScript) for all of our app, web and backend development, but also sharing business logic between codebases through private NPM packages and using other frameworks to maximize a consistent experience throughout the stack.

We work in a structured setting with modern tools like Figma, Slack, Notion, Linear. No cumbersome legacy systems to maintain.

App: React-Native, Expo EAS, Redux-Toolkit, Jest.

Backend: Node.js (Express), Jest, Docker, Postgres and AWS with 100% infrastructure as code.

Web: Next.js, Vercel, Contentful.

Your profile

You have at least three years experience working with software engineering in a professional environment (not including school or hobby projects). You most likely have a degree from a technical university, or instead several years of relevant work experience.

You enjoy being part of a collaborative team where we can iterate quickly on our products. You thrive on understanding the needs of our users and tailoring our products based on that understanding.

You need to be fluent in Swedish and English.
